MetaMatrix account terms

The terms for your MetaMatrix account: who can have one, how verification works, and how to close it.

About these terms

These terms apply to your MetaMatrix account: the account you create on our member portal by signing in with an account you already have with one of the sign-in providers shown on the sign-in page (such as Google or Microsoft). They add to the terms of use of this website. You accept them when you create your account. Our privacy notice explains how we handle your personal data.

Who can have an account

  • You must be 18 or older. We do not knowingly keep an account of anyone younger, and we delete one when we find it.
  • Accounts are for people looking for a job, recruitment agencies and independent recruiters, employers who hire through us, and others with a genuine reason to work with us.
  • An account is personal: one per person, in your own name, and not to be shared or transferred.
  • MetaMatrix staff do not use member accounts: they sign in with their work account.

Your account

  • You sign in through one of the sign-in providers shown on the sign-in page (identity providers, such as Google or Microsoft). We never see or store your password with them.
  • Keep that account secure: anyone who can sign in to it can sign in to your MetaMatrix account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.
  • Your account email is the address your identity provider confirms. You can add or remove sign-in methods under Profile, but always keep at least one.
  • Keep your profile accurate and up to date.

Verification and roles

A new account sees only its own profile and general information about MetaMatrix. When you submit your profile, our team reviews it and may contact you or ask for more information. If we verify it, we give your account a role that fits why you are here, such as job seeker, external recruiter or client, and the role opens the parts of the portal that go with it, for example the status of the applications you sent us.

We decide whether to verify an account and which role to give it. Verification is not a job offer, an agreement to work with you or an endorsement of you. Any work between you and us is covered by a separate written agreement.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • give false or misleading information, or pretend to be someone else;
  • use the portal for anything unlawful, harmful or fraudulent, including asking anyone for money in our name;
  • try to reach another person's account or data, or any part of the portal or our systems you are not allowed to use;
  • interfere with how the portal works, use automated tools to access it, or test its security except as our responsible disclosure policy allows;
  • enter content that is unlawful or offensive, or that infringes someone else's rights, or other people's personal data without the right to share it.

MetaMatrix never asks for money for a job. If anyone asks you to pay in our name, do not pay, and report it as our recruitment-fraud notice explains.

Suspension and closing your account

  • You can delete your account at any time under Profile › Privacy & account, unless it is suspended or we must keep it for a legal reason (a legal hold). Your profile, your sign-in methods and your account are then deleted, as our privacy notice describes.
  • We may refuse, suspend or close an account, for example when its information is false, when these terms are broken, when the law requires it, or to protect you, other people or our systems.
  • Unless the law or a security reason prevents it, we tell you why in your account. You can ask us to look at a decision again through our grievance process.
  • A refused account can still sign in to see its status, download its data and delete itself.
  • A suspended account can still sign in to see its status and download its data, but it cannot be deleted: we keep it while the suspension lasts. When the reason for it ends, we either reinstate the account or delete it.
  • If we stop offering MetaMatrix accounts, we tell you in advance where we can.

Your data and privacy

Our privacy notice explains what we collect for your account, why, on what legal basis, how long we keep it, and your rights, including how to download or delete your data. Accounts that are never completed, that we did not approve, or that stay unused for a long time are deleted after the periods it states.

Changes and versions

We may change these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. Every version of these terms and of our privacy notice has its own version label. When either changes, we ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in; until you do, you can only download your data, delete your account or sign out. If you do not accept, you can delete your account. We keep a record of the versions you accepted and when.

Our responsibility

We work to keep the portal available and accurate, but we cannot promise that it is always available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Contact and grievances

Questions about your account: use the details on our contact page. To raise a grievance about your account or your personal data, follow our grievance process.
